We went camping at REI Lakes on Springfield Ohio this weekend and I got this great shot. This was a 30 minute exposure that I started about 10:30pm, the moon was a crescent and low on the horizon. Worked out great as you can see the star rotation and the moon falling below the horizon through the clouds. In the background on the back side of the lakes you can see the light trails from cars passing by during the exposure. Was a nice clear night and very little ambient light to cloud the shot.
Lens: Tokina 11-16 wide angle at 15mm
Exposure time: 30 minutes
FStop: F10
ISO:100
Welcome to Major Toad Photo's! I am just an amatuer photographer always looking for a great shot.

Never throw away a pic!
May 9th, 2014
The below top photo was salvaged from the photo below it. It was just a quick shot before we were chased off by the rangers, it is a little blurry but a perfect example of why you should never throw away a pic from your LCD viewer. All I did was put it in Lightroom software and increase the exposure and bump up the contrast a little with some clarity added in and managed to pull the 2 bear cubs out of the photo. I cropped it to drop the un-necessary foliage around it.
